One cold, stormy and rainy night, Terry and the rest of his family were having dinner. They were all having an amazing night with each other. But that changed very soon. It was the night before the day everything in the forest would change. While they were sitting at the dinner table, they heard someone calling outside. They were all shocked because they weren’t expecting anyone at that time of the night.

Papa Rabbit went outside. In the dark, the cold and rainy night he saw the mail kangaroo. Though he was wearing a raincoat, he was completely wet!

Papa Rabbit was shocked to see him because he was sick just a week ago. Papa Rabbit: “Mr. Kangaroo, what are you doing in this cold rain? Quickly come in!”

Mr. Kangaroo: “No my friend, I don’t have enough time. I was on my way home when I received a message from the Staff”

Papa Rabbit could see that the mail Kangaroo was being serious, he that Mr. Kangaroo was almost out of breath, and he was the only way in that storm. That’s why he quickly asked: “What was the message?”

Mr. Kangaroo replied: BEWARE FAMILY AND FRIENDS! THE DAM THAT WAS KEEPING THE OCEAN FROM HITTING THE FOREST WILL BREAK! THE DAM IS NOT STRONG ANYMORE AND WILL FALL DOWN! PACK EVERYTHING YOU NEED AND LEAVE AT SUNLIGHT TO THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN SOUTH WHERE THE ENTIRE FOREST WILL GATHER”

Papa Rabbit was shocked and couldn’t say a word, before he could the mail kangaroo was already gone.

He went straight inside his home to let his family know about the emergency.

The mail Kangaroo went to every house in the forest to let them know about the emergency as well. This wasn’t as easy for every animal in the forest. Some were really small and would need days to travel everything they have to the highest mountain.

Every animal was afraid of what might happen and some didn’t want to leave the forest. They had so many questions. They didn’t know when the dam would fall, they didn’t know if the highest mountain was high enough, they didn’t know what would happen to the rest of the forest, and they loved the forest. It was their home.

When the mail Kangaroo went to see if everyone was ready, he couldn’t believe his eyes. He stood right in front of every animal in the forest’ He saw that the split in the dam was tearing further, his eyes were wide open, his feet were pressing in the sand, and he yelled “IT’S GONNA BREAK!”

Everyone came to look and went into their homes immediately to pack and go to the highest mountain south.
